Bern YB top striker Guillaume Hoarau (Reunion Island) recently had a live concert at the bookstore Stauffacher in Bern. While realising his dream of becoming a famous and one of the highest paid football players in Switzerland, he decided to pursue one of his other childhood dreams, which is music.
The concert was sold out. Football fans of all genders and ages attended his show. He sang some of his favorite songs, including “Stand by Me” by Ben E King, “Gravity” by Jon Mayer and “Redemption Song” by Bob Marley, surprising his fans with his vocal and guitar playing skills.
He left the stage to give his back up vocalist Irina Mossi the space to sing a rendition of Alicia Keys song “If I ain’t got you”. Whilst her performance, he sat down in the front row with the youngest fans, and celebrated the presentation of the congolese-swiss songbird. The backing band was musically on point (Res Staudenmann on the guitar, Christoph Fluri on the drums and Philipp Bühlmann on the bass).
To sing the song “Love yourself” by Justin Bieber, he asked members of the audience to join him on stage. Two young girls, wearing the YB club scarfs showed bravery and got up to sing along.
After the second set, he left the audience wanting for more. They didn’t leave empty handed, as he signed autograph cards and took pictures with them.
In my conclusion, it was a warm hearted family ambience and an overwhelming experience.
