Child PornographyThe police have confirmed that a disturbing video being circulated on social media depicting child pornography, originated in Trinidad and Tobago.

On Wednesday (January 31) the police said the video was being circulated, and that detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, Cisoca, are aware of the disturbing video being circulated on social media.

In an update today (February 1), the police confirmed the video did not originate in Jamaica but Trinidad, saying the suspect in the matter is on the run.

The Trinidadian police are investigating.

Meanwhile, the police are imploring members of the public to desist from sharing this video, as this action constitutes an offence under the Child Pornography Prevention Act and the Cybercrimes Act.

Members of the public are strongly urged to delete the video and related images.
