Curfew In Spanish Town, St Catherine

Spanish Town, St CatherineAs the Jamaican Government continues its fight against the growing crime, a curfew has been imposed in sections of Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The curfew which began at 6:00 Thursday evening, will remain in force until 6:00 pm Saturday.

View below for the boundaries of the curfew:

  1.  North along the Twickenham main road from the Rio Cobre to Jones Avenue
  2.  South along an imaginary line about 400 metres from Jones Avenue to the Rio Cobre
  3.  East along Jones Avenue from the Twickenham main road
  4.  West along the Rio Cobre to Twickenham main road

According to the Constabulary Communications Unit, during the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.

St Catherine’s curfew comes after Prime Minister Andrew Holness declared a state of public emergency in St James on Thursday.
