Chronixx, Damian Marley, J Boog, Morgan Heritage, and Common Kings are the 2018 Grammy nominees vying for the coveted Best Reggae Album title.
Three-time Grammy winner, Damian Junior Gong Marley is nominated for Stony Hill. Meanwhile, Morgan Heritage who copped the Grammy in 2016, is nominated for Avrakedabra. J Boog who was nominated in 2017, scored his consecutive Grammy nod for Wash House Ting.
Chronixx secured his first Grammy nomination for his debut album, Chronology. Meanwhile, Hawaiian pop-reggae band, Common Kings rounds out the list of nominees Lost Paradise.
To be eligible for a nomination at the 60th annual GRAMMY Awards, albums must be released between October 1, 2016, and September. 30, 2017.
The Grammys will be held on January 28, 2018, at Madison Square Gardens in New York.
What are the eligibility requirements for nominations?
For the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards, albums must be released between Oct. 1, 2016, and Sept. 30, 2017. Recordings must be commercially released in general distribution in the United States, i.e. sales by label to a branch or recognized independent distributor, via the internet or mail order/retail sales for a nationally marketed product. Recordings must be available for sale from any date within the eligibility period through at least the date of the current year’s voting deadline.
