There has been a 25 percent reduction in serious and violent crimes in the Area 2 Police Division, that comprises St Ann, St Mary, and Portland.
Head of the Area Two Police, Assistant Commissioner, Fitz Bailey, made the revelation at a town hall meeting, at the Port Maria Civic Centre in St Mary, yesterday.
He said, St Mary had seen a 14 percent reduction in violent crimes, even as he lamented, that one murder, is one too many.

He is urging citizens and other stakeholders in the parish, to utilize core family values, and proper parenting skills, in a bid to ensure that children are exposed to what is right.
While calling on citizens to partner with the police, ACP Bailey also wants the police to act professionally, in dealing with citizens.
