Director of Public Prosecution Paula Llewellyn says steps are being taken to request the transfer of the case involving a pastor from St Elizabeth to Kingston, in the interest of fairness.

64-year-old Pastor Rupert Clarke of the Nazareth Moravian Church is charged with having sex with a female under the age of consent.

Ms Llewellyn says the concern was raised with her by ACP Ealon Powell, following the public dissemination of details of the incident on a local radio station, as well as on social media.

Ms Llewellyn says if the case is moved to Kingston, the likelihood of pulling from a more objective jury pool, is higher.
