Five Confirmed Cases Of The Zika Virus In St Elizabeth Jamaica

The St. Elizabeth Health Department in jamaica is reporting that there are five confirmed cases of the Zika Virus in the parish.

The announcement was made at the monthly meeting of the St. Elizabeth Municipal Cooperation.

While making her presentation, Medical Officer Tonia Dawkins-Beharie said since the beginning of this year, 260 suspected cases have been reported in the parish, five of which have been confirmed.

The Medical Officer says Health Officials continue to monitor high risk persons and are seeing a reduction in the number of cases reported.
