SHAMROCK BIOGRAPHY

Shamrock is a multi-talented Reggae Artiste from the sunny Caribbean Island of Jamaica, the birth place and Mecca of Reggae Music. He was born Kevin Smith on August 23, 1977. He has been singing and recording for approximately 20 years, and he has recorded songs  for several  Jamaican music producers including Gargamel Music (Buru Banton), Inspire Music,  DANGER Zone,  Lady G and Shocking Vibes. Shamrock is currently working with the L & R Stardust Label. And he has been a member of the Alliance Portmore Regime Camp for the past two years.

The versatile writer, Shamrock composes his own songs which fall within the categories cultural, inspirational and political. He is currently working on a new song on the “Brutal Step Riddim” for the L & R Stardust Label for whom he has already done “ Bounce a Gal” on the “Crazy Dog Riddim”,” Bad Mind” on the “Ghana Step Riddim” and “Money Pree” on the “Double Circle Riddim”. A dynamic performer, he has performed on many shows in and around the Island of Jamaica, his biggest performance to date being “Reggae by the Sea” in December 2001 in Negril.

Shamrock grew up in Jamaica’s tourism capital, Montego Bay with his father, four brothers, one sister and his step mother. He lists the schools he has attended as Tarada Heights Basic, Salem All Age and Harrison Memorial High. And he lists his non music interests as Boxing, table tennis and reading. He also loves to cook so it’s not surprising that he was once a chef.

The dedicated artiste says that his inspiration for a music career came from an older brother who is in the music business and his dad who always encouraged from he started writing songs at about 12 years old. And he says that his major influencers have been Bounty Killa, Buju Banton and Sizzla.
